Erectile Dysfunction and Sleep Apnea Treatment
By Donovan Baldwin
This is a short discussion, and, one of those "good news, not so good news" kind of things.
To get my info, I reviewed a few studies, including the most intensive I could find by the NIH (National Institutes of Health), NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information).
The "not so good news" is that sleep apnea treatments, including CPAP therapy, did not seem to show any statistically significant positive effect on Erectile Dysfunction per se.
However, the good news is that, in addition to helping you live a longer healthier life, CPAP therapy for sleep apnea, and other treatments for sleep disorder, CAN help you lose weight, get healthier, and enjoy ALL aspects of living, including sexual relationships and pleasure. Since a large percentage of sexual satisfaction and desire is in the mind, sleeping better, and getting more restorative rest during sleep, can result in more enjoyment of all aspects of life, including sex.
Also part of the good news is that as your body functions better, you will have the opportunity and energy to become more active, even if you don't really "exercise", and enjoy life more.
One additional piece of good news; if your snoring or sleep apnea events are interfering with the sleep of your partner, THEY will sleep better when you treat your sleep apnea with a CPAP machine, or other medical intervention. This will give THEM a more positive outlook on, and approach TO life, and will probably make them feel more likely to be interested in sexual relations and other "together" activities.
