Cry Of The Wolf - Forming Informal Words - I Am The Poem - In Search Of Beauty - Where Small Dragons Fly
Fort Worth Poet, Donovan Baldwin

Donovan Baldwin has been writing and publishing his original poetry for over 40 years. He has collected many of his smaller, romantic and daring poems on this site.

CRY OF THE WOLF

The cry of the wolf
Beneath the moon,
Hoot of watching owl,
Murmur of the river,
Wind whispering
Among the branches
Of the trees, those
Silent sentries of
The night through which
We wander as natural
As nature itself,
One with the world
And one another.

FORMING INFORMAL WORDS

I sit on the beach
At sunset
Watching the waves come in
Sighing into the wind
Trying to read patterns
In water and sand,
Sound of wave and wind
Whispering of
Adventure and romance,
Forming informal words
In a language I
Must convert into
Poetry

I AM THE POEM

not simply my words
please read every part of me
i am the poem

IN SEARCH OF BEAUTY

poet shows wisdom
ignoring reality
in search of beauty

WHERE SMALL DRAGONS FLY

breathing poetry
warm words waft on summer breeze
where small dragons fly
