Of course, aging is, at bottom, a natural process. We all must face it, and endure it.
As we age, our bodies will go through stages which are part of the process. Of course, a lot of this natural process means a decline in the ability of our body to make use of natural resources. At the same time, we may be making lifestyle choices which also reduce our body's ability to function in a healthy manner.
The bottom line is that we can make choices and implement actions which can help us live healthy while aging.
A few of the symptoms of aging include wrinkles, crowsfeet, weight gain, weight loss, cellulite, diabetes, heart disease, and arthritis
As I mentioned, we can do things to help with healthy aging.
At the same time, there are things we might NOT want to do for healthy aging.
The NOT DO List
Take care not to exercise and workout excessively before bedtime.
While exercise is normally good for you, it can get you all wound up. Your heart rate goes up, you get all worked up as you work out, and relaxing becomes harder.
Do your exercising earlier in the day. In fact, it's probably best to exercise in the morning. Gives your body time to recover and you to wind down by bedtime. Exercising in the morning will also boost your energy levels during the day.
However, as they taught us in grade school, we are individuals and unique. YOU may find that it is BEST for YOU to exercise at some other time of day. Feel free to experiment to find YOUR BEST time to exercise. Additionally, be flexible and be prepared to change your schedule. It's usually better to exercise at the "wrong" time of day than not to exercise at all.
Exercising later in the day may work for you. That's fine. If you feel energized and your mood is elevated at a time when most people are feeling a bit "down", then use that to your advantage.
Why Am I Still Awake?
Well, snoring is one of the things which can keep you awake.
The causes of snoring can be obesity, airway obstruction, or something else.
A visit to the doctor may be the best answer to your snoring problem, but, other things, such as weight loss, or simply, regular exercise, may be the answer to your sleeping problem.
Depression and Stress
These are two of the most common things preventing us from getting a good night's sleep. Stress also interferes with health at any age.
Some simple solutions to the stress and depression which are related to modern life are things such as yoga and meditation. Another method for dealing with stress is aromatherapy. All of these can help you relieve stress and elevate your move, all of which helps prevent depression and physical ills.
Healthy Eating
Nutrition is essential for healthy aging, and good sleep, for that matter. Eating a balanced diet helps provide essential nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals, protein, carbohydrates, and another necessary substances, such as fiber, helps you live a healthy life and life longer.
Vitamins, Minerals, Herbs, and Other Supplements
Your body needs a wide range of vitamins, minerals and other substances for good health and long life. Providing the necessary nutrients will go a long way to helping you achieve a longer, healthier life. While many of these substances are available from the foods you eat, in today's world, it can often be difficult to eat all the foods necessary to provide these nutrients. One way to make sure you get the vitamins and minerals you need for good health and healthy aging is to take a daily multivitamin.
Additionally, there are various supplements, usually containing herbal supplements, which can also help with healthy living and healty aging.
