Simply put, a hardgainer is actually someone who might often be envied by many in today's world.
This is because a hardgainer is someone who is genetically programmed to be thin. As a result, this person has extreme difficulty achieving even small muscle gains. For the hardgainer, unless he can figure out how to turn that genetic programming to his advantage, life as a bodybuilder is going to be frustrating and unrewarding.

Who is Anthony Ellis and why does his opinion matter?
For starters, Anthony was a skinny young computer geek and a hardgainer. He tried for years to gain muscle mass and nothing seemed to work. Although he carfully followed the instructions of bodybuilding "gurus" he never really gained weight and got the muscular body he dreamed of.
