I have used other iron supplements before, and they were terrible -- it all seems to come right out the other end, and it's not gentle on your insides on the way through -- and it seems that this negative experience with iron supplements is considered industry standard and just expected. But leave it to Shaklee to say, "Nope, that's just not good enough" -- and make something better. Not only does THIS iron actually get absorbed, but it is also gentle on even a very finicky digestive system (like mine). I took this after being diagnosed as anemic during my last pregnancy, and when they tested my hemoglobin level at my 6 week postpartum appointment, it was a whopping 14. For comparison, I should mention that 10 is considered adequate, and 11 quite good, so 4 for someone who gave birth 6 weeks ago and was anemic 6 months ago is almost miraculous. If you have any trouble with iron levels, do yourself a huge favor and try this one.
