ANTI-AGING TIPS
ANTI-AGING PROPERTIES OF RESVERATROL

The Anti-Aging Properties of Resveratrol
By Donovan Baldwin

Resveratrol is a substance found, among other places, in the skins of red grapes and in the red wine made from them. Tests on animals and plants have indicated that this substance may have some effect on the aging process, but no significant results have been obtained in human tests so far. One human test did produce some significant results, but only in the levels of blood sugar, and only with high doses of resveratrol in a proprietary concoction.

On the anecdotal front, many point to the "French paradox" as evidence of the value of Resveratrol against the aging process. These people make note of the fact that the incidence of coronary heart disease is relatively low in southern France despite a very high dietary intake of saturated fats. Since the consumption of red wine is common in these areas, many believe that it may be the key to this aspect of the aging, or anti-aging, process.

Despite any known current link between Resveratrol and aging, many still hope that this substance may hold at least one key to reversing the aging process, and many actually take Resveratrol supplements while many, like myself, rely on the "glass of red wine a day" prescription.
